My Confederate collection started when I was a kid with the purchase of my first note at a coin shop in Paris, Texas.  I have always been fascinated by the history surrounding the War of Northern Aggression and the Confederate States.  Throughout the years more notes and items were slowly added to my collection here and there.  In 2017, I decided to start researching my family history and discovered four of my 4th Great-Grandfathers were Confederate infantry soldiers from Texas and Alabama.  This led to me joining the Sons of Confederate Veterans and becoming more serious about expanding my collection.  Collecting historical items has always been appealing because we don't really own them, but instead preserve them to be passed on to their caretaker in the next generation.
